Laser Hair Removal

Virtually Painless. Fast. All Skin Types.

How Does It Work?

  • Step 1 - Consultation

We will first do a consultation to go over any questions you may have and how the process works. During this time we will evaluate factors like your skin type, hair type, hormones, medications and more that will help us determine if you’re a good candidate for laser.

  • Step 2 - The Treatment

Once we determine you are a good candidate we will get you scheduled for your first treatment. We use a multi-wavelength diode laser (755, 808, 940, 1064 wavelengths) for lighter to medium skin tones and our 1064:YAG for darker skin tones. Prior to your session you will shave all the areas being treated.

  • Step 3 - Continued Treatments

Our hair grows in stages and each time you come in for a treatment only 10% of your hair is actively attached to the root aka anagen phase. This is the hair the laser is able to effectively “remove” at that time. Because of this, the average person will need anywhere between 8-12 treatments to fully remove the hair.

  • This is the best experience I've ever had with laser hair removal! The laser is very effective and not painful at all. Sydney is amazing and makes sure you feel very comfortable during the whole procedure. I highly recommend them and will continue to see them in the future for more treatments.

    -Diana

  • Amazing experience!! Went for my first laser session and I was nervous because I’ve heard horror stories. Courtney and Jeilene were so nice and made me feel so comfortable. The laser was basically painless and so fast, can’t wait to go back!!

    -Lauren

  • I just had my 2nd round of full body laser hair removal and it was awesome! They have made me feel so comfortable and are very knowledgeable. The appointments take a little over an hour and are surprisingly pain free for the most part. I'm very happy with my decision to go to Silk Med Spa and I highly recommend.

  • I’ve used silk laser hair removal for 3 treatments now and the results have been fantastic. The machine they use is giving better results than expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We have the latest technology in laser hair removal that uses a cold technology and a painting technique to gradually heat up the follicle causing very little to no sensation. If you have had laser hair removal in the past with an older laser you may remember a rubber band snapping type of sensation which is unlike what you will experience with our laser. Most patients report that it is very comfortable.

  • We have 2 lasers for hair removal.

We use a multi-wavelength diode (not to be confused with an IPL). Our diode has 4 wavelengths ranging from 755 (like an alexandrite laser), 808 (diode), 940 (targets & kills the hair’s blood supply) and 1064 (like a yag laser). With these 4 wavelengths we are able to reach every depth of the hair follicle and effectively killing any further growth.

We also use a 1064: YAG laser which is ideal for darker skin tones but can be used on every skin type as well. This has a more targeted tip and great for pin pointing stubborn hair.

  • This all depends on a few factors that we determine during your first visit. Your hair type, color, skin type, your ethnic background, hormones, medications and other factors can contribute to your hair growth. Thicker, courser hair will require more treatments than thin, lighter colored hair. On average we see a range from 8-12 treatments depending on the area being treated.

  • Our hair grows in stages (anagen, telogen and catagen phases). About 10% of your hair in actively attached to the root (anagen phase) when you come in for a treatment and that is the hair we are able to effectively remove during that session. Following the treatment, 2-3 weeks later, you may notice all the hairs falling then some patches growing back. The hair regrowth is the hair that was not actively attached at the root and we will then remove during our next session. This is why it requires more than one or two treatments.

  • No, you will need to stop waxing or plucking the areas as these methods remove the hair follicle needed to effectively laser.
